Star Wars: Battlefront II campaign will be robust

While the main draw in Star Wars Battlefront II might be the mulitplayer component (which we've liked what we've played so far), the single-player portion of the game looks to be well worth the time as well. The new trailer for EA's Star Wars: Battlefront II teases the aftermath of Return of the Jedi from the side of the bad guys.

In that sense, the art director of EA Motive Chris Matthews stated the following: "Right now there have been games that exploit players and there have been games that have done it in better ways".

The story puts you in control of Iden Versio, a female Imperial soldier who leads the special forces group Inferno Squad.

As io9 points out, fans were a little disappointed that the first Battlefront game didn't bother to include a single-player mode, but as this trailer shows, developers didn't make the same mistake twice. The narrative follows the destruction of the second Death Star and the death of the Emperor.

Star Wars: Battlefront II is a sequel to the 2015's Star Wars: Battlefront from DICE.

It's a completely new direction for the Star Wars series, as we've never seen Imperial being portrayed as the protagonist before.

For the unaware, Battlefront 2 will bring us a single-player campaign from the Empire's perspective.

Iden address both her fellow agents and her droid with notable politeness.

"The Empire's time has come", Versio says confidently.
